So I do the tutorial, this time finally getting how to launch and fire a missile. вЂњI got this,вЂќ I say to myself, lips quivering with excitement, вЂњIвЂ™ll go as Terran Commander again, do the tutorial, and then theyвЂ™ll probably give me a story mission!вЂќ Cue me flying around aimlessly for a few seconds before docking and saving. At the end of the tutorial the guy tells me IвЂ™ll вЂњpick it up as I go alongвЂќ. I would include вЂњShoot MissilesвЂќ but the little hint that came up flashed by too fast and I actually didnвЂ™t learn how to do that. This time I find the Flight School craft and learn how to fly. Neat! вЂњNow I can come up with my own background and name!вЂќ I thought innocently, вЂњand choose a non-shitty picture!вЂќ I donвЂ™t even care that story-related quests arenвЂ™t in the picture because they seemed to have little bearing on the ten minutes I spent as a Terran Commander. I scroll down past the вЂњSuicide SquidвЂќ and find there is an option for вЂњCustom GameвЂќ.

So I go to the start menu again and try a different character. I realize that the 'Flight School Sabre' I had seen earlier was probably my tutorial, but I've completely lost it by now. Eventually I figure out how to go forward. A hint briefly flashes in the upper-right corner but I miss it. I expect a tutorial as a float lifelessly in space, faced with multiple space stations. This annoys me, but I pick the Terran Commander because it sounds cool and I figure the Terrans must be the good guys because, like, shit got blown up in orbit of Earth due to terrorism and such. So, I get to the character select screen, where I have to pick a pre-determined background and face. I really hope this is expanded on in the game, because I am confused as hell right now.

I install the game, start playing, and I am greeted with a cutscene.

So I installed Albion first completely at random, because I had no clue what the first game in the series was. But now I get 6 games for ten bucks? Score! I had always been interested in the series, but I had never seen it quite cheap enough to buy it up. So I recently picked up the entire X Game back on Steam.

I'm sure either a patch will be released offically or some modders will make one eventually. You would probably be better served asking your questions on the actual X3 boards than here. The flight tutorial mission giver should have one of those, it looks like a small blue book next to its name.ДЄs for your problems, sounds like there are some bugs that need to be worked out in the newest expansion. Storyline missions have a book looking icon. If you don't see an icon next to their name, they don't have a mission to give you. For example a white exclamation mark usually is either someone selling you maps or asking you for a ride, green blocks is 'build a station', red targeting reticle are combat missions of all types and the gold coin looking one is 'bring me X resources for Y cash' or 'i'll sell you my ship for X amount of cash'. As a note there aren't missions unless there is an icon next to the name in the station menu. And the only way I could think of not being able to get missions is if you weren't talking with them. Hmm, I don't have Albion Prelude and probably won't ever get it because I spent too much time on my current game of TC (with some really fun mods) to give that up for something that may or may not be more fun.ДЄs for not being able to talk to stations I assumed you couldn't because you said you couldn't get missions.
